Gueydan provides its residents with electricity, gas, water and sewerage. A utility deposit of $275 is required unless proof of property ownership is provided. Utility bills are mailed on the last working day of the month and become delinquent upon the 16th of the month. Delinquencies are subject to disconnection without further notice. Trash & Household Garbage
The Vermilion Parish Police Jury collects trash for Gueydan residents on Tuesdays. This includes branches, yard waste and any other non-household garbage items to be disposed of. Contact your Vermilion Parish Ward 8 Police Juror at the Parish Barn located on Hwy. 14, southeast of Gueydan or call the Barn at (337) 536-6930. In addition, the Vermilion Parish Police Jury collects household garbage for Gueydan residents on Thursdays. It is recommended that you place your household garbage for pick up on the curb on Wednesday night. Do not include branches or yard waste in your household garbage collection.
